Rock Genealogy - a musical journey of alternative rock music from "The Zanies" to the 3D rock music character Redvers Downs

Redvers Downs was massively influenced by rock music and song lyrics from The Small Faces, The Who, The Kinks, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones and The Spencer Davies Group, to mention a few. The change in music styles of today has seen Redvers Downs write some influential protest song lyrics and be outstandingly creative in the production of 3D animated videos.

The rock genealogy below describes the emergence of Redvers Downs from the early days with the Zanies, through to the alternative rock music 3D hero he is today.

"THE ZANIES" The first band, heavily influenced by the Sixties, heavily encouraged by the parents (who had passed on their love of the Sixties), the mother of the drummer came up the name, she was not to be argued with.

"APRICOT SUBWAY" The band are now in their late teens, the business like and almost smart appearance belying the retro hippie emotion of the music at that time.

"MANUSCRIPT" The post teenage 'we are taking ourselves very seriously' band. The first band that featured Redvers in an obviously 'front man' role. This was also a period of 'substance' discovery and finding ones 'self'. One was usually to be found 'out of it' wandering around Death Valley looking for an Off License.

FAT RICH BASTARDS The first attempt at a Supergroup with attitude, having managed (unlike most of their contempories) to hang on to the filthy lucre amassed in previous incarnations, this band only seem able to be creative in tropical beach locations and the such like. As was to be expected massive clashes of egos, and, space issues in small elevators popular in boutique hotels the world over lead to Redvers wanting to embark on a 'solo' career for the first time.

"REDVERS DOWNS" 'So here I am emerging on the other side, All tooled up and with some fun to go, With only fear to fear, and my luck to ride, A refocused selfish So and So.' 3rd verse of 'Out went baby'
