A very cool exhibition going on over in East London at the mo. Transition Gallery recently invited over 60 artists to make a visual piece of work inspired by a song lyric for their show Awopbopaloobop. Fine Art and Rock and Roll have walked hand in hand since the beginning of the Sixties and never more so than now. From The Smiths to Afrikan Boy, taking in The Internationale, Elvis, Cannibal Ox and Lemon D along the way this show is a visual feast exploring what contemporary artists are listening to now as they beaver away in their garrets.
Review to appear in the ‘Resources’ section soon.

Redvers Towers applauds the coming together of rock and hip hop - let Chris Martin and Sean Carter unite us through peace, love and prosperity.

Today I was driving down the road from Redvers Towers and was incensed to see a monstrous building being constructed right in the heart of the Sussex countryside. I asked Redvers what it was for and it turns out that it is a composting facility for the whole of Sussex. What an outrage! Why could this not be built in some of the horrible, brown field areas of Brighton, or next to a motorway, or near Gatwick. Why is it built on our green and pleasant land? We are all for recycling here at Redvers Towers, we encourage an environmentally friendly studio etc, but some thought needs to be put into the locations of these eye sores. Redvers pointed out that his current squeeze at the time did protest a lot at the time, started a village petition, organised various village rallies and even lay down on the village road to halt traffic - but this corporate outrage went ahead as planned, blighting our view and contaminating our nostrils.
Let the turf war begin, blud.

It’s a typical Monday with some production work on Summer Headlines and some general admin etc, with the incessant patter of rain outside.
Then an email came through to say Redvers is now part of the MCPS-PRS Alliance - the home of the world’s best songwriters, composers and music publishers. So a minor breakthrough there I think you will agree. As if on cue, the sun broke through the clouds.
Poetry in motion.

Well I seem to have fallen at the first hurdle on the daily blog vibe. Never fear though dear reader, this oversight shall never be repeated.
Today has been about re recording Redvers’ vocals and some Myspace marketing. We have found some rather funny sound effects for the songs…. not naming any tracks, but when the re-recorded versions of the new songs appear on the site, listen closely for a whale fart. Maturity on a Friday!
Remember, in these extraordinary times it is important to retain one’s sense of humour.

Hello and good afternoon to you all from Redvers Towers in sort-of-sunny Sussex! Here begins a daily blog on the goings on here in the studio.
Today we recieved our most recent radio interview on Liberty FM which will be posted shortly. It is clear I need to speak up and Damon needs to stop talking about MRSA! Other than that Redvers has just got back from a pub lunch and Damon and I are busy putting together a brochure for our website templates which are now for sale to all you budding artists and bands out there. We reckon our websites are so much better than Myspace and iTunes as you can upload as many songs as you like and sell them direct to your fans. But more info on that to follow!
Also check the ‘Resources’ section for a new Kooks review by yours truly.
Of course, we would love to hear what you think so don’t be shy, leave a post or email us.
